Our Story

We’re Arjan and Hielke, the founders of Dutch Label Shop. Our journey began in college in the Netherlands, driven by a shared entrepreneurial spirit. The spark came from a simple conversation with a dressmaker friend who was struggling to find high-quality custom clothing labels in small quantities.

The more we looked into the industry, the clearer the gap became. Traditional label manufacturers were difficult to reach, small orders were nearly impossible, and lead times were painfully long. There was almost no flexibility for small brands, hobbyists and makers who needed custom labels for clothing. We were convinced there had to be a better way.

In August 2015, Dutch Label Shop was born, literally out of a Brooklyn closet. Arjan managed the first orders from New York while Hielke left his job in Vietnam to build our reach across Europe. More than a decade later, what started as a two-person startup has grown into a globally trusted label partner serving creators and brands around the world.
